"Therefore, if there be any vein, any nerve, any soul, any life or spirit of liberty in the sons of America, show your love for it; guard your freedom, prevent your chains; stand up as one man for your liberty; for none but those, who set a just value upon this blessing, are worthy the enjoyment of it" John Allen, Second Baptist Church in Boston. The Feds are going to have to get off the fence. C'mon, more than 20% of the states have acknowledged the medical value and that number is increasing!
Sorry you Dad is having such bureaucratic difficulties.

Patient activists to the rescue!
we'll get him squared up, even if he has to relocate to Cali for a month.
JeffL on Friday 26 June 2023 - 23:13:22
They're trying to say that Dad has to be a California resident before he can be protected by California's medipot law!!! I've never heard of such a thing!!! They ruined Fathers Day for everyone!!! We we're supposed to go get medipot cards for Fathers Day but Oh NoOOO we gotta be jerks and try to ruin what would have been a most memorable occasion!
I think the Federal Government should step in and make California extend their medipot protections to out of state Dad's when they're visiting their kids.

Shall Naboth's disputing with King Ahab, respecting his vineyard, be deemed rebellion?
It is no more rebellion, that it is to breathe.
JeffL on Sunday 14 June 2023 - 18:42:40
Whenever, then, the ruler encourages them that do evil, and is a terror to those that do well,--i. e., as soon as he becomes a tyrant, he forfeits his authority to govern, and becomes the minister of Satan, and, as such, ought to be opposed.
JeffL on Sunday 14 June 2023 - 18:42:02
It is as plain, I think, as words can make it, that, according to this text, no tyrant can be a ruler; for the apostle's definition of a ruler is, that he is not a terror to good works, but to the evil; and that he is one who is to praise and encourage those that do well.
JeffL on Sunday 14 June 2023 - 18:40:15
no power (according to the apostle) is ordained of God but what is an encourager of every good and virtuous action,
No man need to be afraid of this power which is ordained of God who does nothing but what is agreeable to the law of God; for this power will not restrain us from exercising any liberty which the Deity has granted us; for the minister of God is to restrain us from nothing but the doing of that which is evil.

Excellent! On the plant that is. Can't wait to see the pics.
I'm so sick of "politicians" lately! Yes, I know Romans 13, that God has put them in place, but that earthly side gets so riled. Wretched man that I am, who will save me from this body of death? Thanks be to Christ Jesus.

Champ is 6-1/4" today.
City council voted to moratorium dispensaries for ten months. I want them to open up the dispensary.

"Champ", my best tobacco plant so far, is 4" wide. He's been in the dirt for about 30 days. I got pics of him

I haven't taken any pics of the garden yet, but when I get some I will figure out how to put them up.
no drain screens, so I'm going to try and use 1" net pots. It should work.
I finally found Origen's commentary of Romans :) -or I mean, what's left of it, what has survived the ages. And it's just a "preview", I still need to buy the books. But I finally found a translation of it online for free. I'm happy. My readings of the Early Church Fathers kind of stopped when I came to it. I didn't want to move on from Origen's stuff without going through that commentary. I wound up spending my time looking for a transltion if it rather than reading in the Church Fathers. But I found one now. I'm happy:)
One more day till election. I wonder how Prop 19 is gonna go. If it passes, we've got our work cut out for us. It's got an achille's heel that can potentially make the penalties worse than what they already are.
“You have rejected this message; you trust instead in your ability to oppress and trick, and rely on that kind of behavior. So this sin will become your downfall." -Isaiah-
Prop 19 was designed by people who want to make money. Money is the primary motive behind it. "sellouts" designed it. It doesn't set us free. And given the discrepancies in taxation, life could become much worse for potsmokers. If it passes, I'll run with it as best as I can, but I fear we'd be running the wrong way down a 10-20 year dead end road. All of our work will be for nothing.
I can't believe I voted NO, but I did. And I think I made the right decision. It doesn't set us free, not in the slightest.
If we focus on the FDA, we can make a significant impact. That's where we need to hit them, and we need to hit them hard and don't stop until they reschedule.
can't believe I voted NO. But I did and I think it was the right decision.
Anxeity-depression-ptsd should all qualify, but I'm not sure. All I remember about Michigan was fighting forced blood tests (per Jerusalem council)
-that's why we wrote Prop 215 "for any illness", because we knew they would try to discredit qualifiable conditions.
Be careful in Michigan, They've got some of the most vicious drug sentencing patterns in the whole country. Do your best to follow the law, as best as the Lord allows you to.
I live in michigan and was told by a counsellor I was a good candidate for medical marijuana. But can I get it for anxiety disorder or depression or P.T.S.D.? i know i can for cronic pain, which I also have. But I'm wondering about the other conditions.
"There are a lot of people speaking the truth with no love, and there are a lot of people talking about love without much truth" - Shane Claiborne on his book The Irresistible Revolution: Living as an Ordinary Radical
ask yourself, what does it profit you to hang out with people who are bent on following cultural values instead of the Word anyways? If congregations aren't sensitive and loyal to the Word of God on this, they are weak and will compromise any time the world comes against the Scriptures.
notwithstanding, even in this error, they're stiil a cut above the secular world that brought us this prohibition to start. Weak and sick, there's still a hope of their repentance, because those who believe will not perish.
Interfaith Drug Policy Initiative has a list to that nature, [link]
But I know of no Christ centered congregation that will not take offense at a pot smoker. The stigma itself shatters any chance at trust and confidence within the Body, and as a result, potsmokers are alienated and detached from the congregations, just like we are in soceity.
it was a lonely world for Abraham. I myself have decided to just stay away from the Churches, because the Churches themselves get attacked by gossip slander and rumor, and they are divided and destroyed when the subject comes up.
Books, study helps, commentary, dictionaries, recordings of sermons; you can grow in knowledge and draw close to Christ, but the Churches don't want us there, save to try and convince you that abstinence from pot is what God wants from you.
Corporate worship and strong relationships are what we lose if we bring the subject up.
