I often wonder, "What exactly is the basis for the popular Christian belief that smoking marijuana is wrong?" Neither Scripture nor reason condemn it. Prohibitionists invoke health concerns, but no one has ever died from smoking marijuana. People are responsible for their own health decisions. The fact is, this prohibition arose for no good reason and Christians continue to support it from mere prejudice rooted in social convention. True discernment is based on honest questioning.
