In Feb, 2000 my sonwho was not supposed to return home until after a weekend away at his dad's, found in my cleaning caddy, a piece of aluminum foil fashioned into a pipe which had been used to smoke a small amount of marijuana (about the size of my pinky fingernail). He took it to his uncle down the street who notified the local sheriff. The Palo Alto County Iowa "Gestapo" searched my home with drug-sniffing dogs while I was not home. Finding nothing, Officer Suhr insisted I turn in whoever gave the marijuana to me so that he could prosecute whoever was bringing drugs into his county. I refused, stating that I wouldn't implicate someone over such a minute quantity, especially since it had already been smoked up and all that remained was what the original police report termed "odor & residue", and that technically I had been the culprit who brought it into his county. Following, ensued charges of "Possession of a controlled substance, a $600 fine, 100 hours of community service, loss of driving priveleges for six months, and a referral to obtain drug counseling. County Attorney, Peter Hart wrote my attorney that he would not consider reducing any charges since I "had my bite of the apple" when toothpicks embued with tea tree oil for dental hygeine were confiscated (again by my brother-in-law)in July,1996 resulting in removal of my children to foster care for ten months. Despite two national labs analyzing the toothpicks and finding no illegal substances, my children were kept the remaining nine months afterward as the Co. Att'y termed their CINA removal for "unmet emotional and psychological needs". (Subsequently they changed that to being a custody dispute with the abusive ex.) At that time I was not completely moved into this county, and still resided in the neighboring county of Clay. There my children received and had been receiving counseling on a weekly basis and more for years to deal with domestic abuse issues and molestation perpetrated by their father,who's visitation had been strictly censured by a judge in that county.I had also just been granted another Protective Order in a long seriesing of them over the course of that decade. Nevertheless, Kori Kibbie Twait (more aptly TWIT), nepitistic social worker reinstated the abuser's visitation to include overnight visits in another state because "he could molest the kid's just as easily during the day". Local police did not enforce that Protective Order, nor subsequent ones, nor would they write police reports of break-ins and vandalism that ocurred at my residence. I could never legally constrain the ex from doing those things, since this county would not write police reports. Amazingly, they wrote seven (7) pages of a police report on the marijuana incident, elaborating on my career prior to my children's birth of exotic dancing. I participated in the State Ombudsman's investigation of the Dept. of Human Svcs'. many foibles and joined my story to others )more appauling than our own) attributed to nepitism, ineptness, and corruption on the state and county levels. This fact probably accounts for my trumped up charges. Even more amazingly, at the time I was being charged, a big methamphetamine bust was supposedly botched, culminating in no charges being proferred against anyone involved. And shortly afterward, the County Att'y was able to get his daughter off all charges after her drunken vehicular homicide of a disabled US Military Vietnam War era Veteran in his wheelchair rightfully in the crosswalk. Guess her "apple" was bigger or she just was entitled to more and larger bites. PS: I lost my career as a Radiographer(had a license to perform X-rays, Limited Scope, but could not complete the last two semesters required for graduation) because of the toothpick incident since my student loan went into default while I was focusing on my children's desparate situation of being sent to an emotionally abusive foster home, accomplished late on a Friday afternoon through coercion under threat of them being returned to their molesting father, even after supplying a stack of police reports and restraining orders identifying the dangerous behaviors commonly demonstrated by him. Iowa is the true loacation of the "children of the corn"; unstoppable evil presides veiled in a costume of churgh-going innocence and low crime rates, it only seems a safe place to dwell. In actuality their lunacy extends to animal slayings such as hanging a mother dog and its pups in the owners' garage for their preschool children to discover one morning, shooting at bunnies toward the direction of my house, claiming the town mayor approves, firing into a front window of a woman with a toy poodle which only went outside briefly ever, etc., ad infinitum. Sorry to have digressed so long; if anyone is interested, there's more to this continuing saga. Halleleujah that Jesus will prevail and clean up this toxic chemical dump they're poisoning our water and food with AND He will purify their evil , self-serving hearts.
