back for a week. Not impressed with the smoke connections in west Texas . Guy said 700 for an ounce of schwag. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Guess it's a bring your own party out there.
I'm on a ranch way out in the middle of West Texas, and actually enjoying myself. No internet, no news, no connections, I've been counting the satellites in the sky at dusk. Will be there another month or two.
In making of itself, moreover, in so many instances primarily an agency of law enforcement, and thus engaging in the duties of the police, the church, I am constrained to think, is in danger of losing sight of its proper function, which is that of bringing to bear upon human soul the sweet and gracious influences of the gospel. Important indeed are the function of the police, and members of the church, in their capacity as citizens, should aid by every proper means within their power in securing the discharge of those functions. But the duty of the church in its corporate capacity is of quite a different nature. (J. Gresham Machen, “Statement on the Eighteenth Amendmentâ€)
As the Westminster Confession of Faith teaches (20.2), "God alone is Lord of the conscience." To bind the consciences of believers on the teaching of Scripture is to recognize and extend Christ's Lordship. But to do so only on the basis of human wisdom or preference is to usurp his rule.
20 If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations— 21 “Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” 22 (referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? 23 These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.
38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Tim. 1:5 But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently.
maybe I'll go through 1 Timothy study on here. I find it odd that I haven't done that yet in the years I've been posting here
"And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5
there is hope for me yet, because God won't forget and all the plans he made for me we'll have to wait and see He's not finished with me yet. -Brandon Heath-
When Christians read their Bibles daily, they get it. It's easier to encourage Christians to read their Bibles daily, than it is to convince cannabis culture that Jesus is God. But I think the grace of Christ Jesus is more abounding in cannabis culture than in the church. It's a mission field right here in the US, so many people alienated from the Gospel.
Oppressive spirits are active in both arenas. There is a lot of spiritual activity surrounding this. hindering spirits, accusing spirits, lying spirits, they're all there. But God's got us som ministering spirits to order our steps.
in either place, walk in the spirit and do the Lord's work.
So JeffL, do you think it is harder to convert Christians to the bilical truth of JAH Herb or to convert the cannabis community to the biblical truth of the Gospel??? And what do you do personally or corporately to do either???
You may know the voters just passed Prop 203 which legalizes medical marijuana however, they have not decriminilized it so any mistakes could end up being a felony. I have been an active and dedicated church member for many years but I stepped down from being a Sunday school teacher for young adults due to the conviction for covering up my marijuana use. I don't understand why Christians aren't on the front lines of this battle between good and evil. Sadly, if they are in that fight they are usually on the wrong side. CRAZY!!! Any ideas on how to start urging the churches, leaders and elders to open their eyes to the scriptural foundation of using what our Lord gave us for healing of mind, body and spirit???
forget that. I've just gone through some of the worst bouts of paranoia I've ever had in my life. I'm smoking pot until they get this stuff regulated. I'll stop smoking again in a few more days and see how the R is working. But no joke, the dose was too low and I was in everybody's- out- to- get- me land for a couple of days. God is in control, maybe a study on the Helmet of Salvation will help
If you guys think about it, keep sister Ursula lifted up in prayers. A little old lady in a wheelchair with no help from anyone, she prayed me through that place. God's got her in that place for spiritual warfare, and believe you me, it's a spiritual war in that place like what I didn't really believe in until now. She needs to be in a Christian nursing home where the staff actually care about her, but she needs a bit of healing first before she can get out. She needs her speech back, and be able to walk. Keep her in your prayers
I just spent the last two weeks in the Riverside county mental health facility. I had no money and no affordable access to pot since the first week of December. so I'm throwing in the towel. I can't go through this again. Risperidone is better than no medicine at all. I can't go through this again. When a month supply of medical cannabis is 40 bucks and the psychiatrists believe me when I say cannabis helps control my symptoms, I might think about using medical cannabis again. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
you say that you redeem us and bring us to a place where we can see the keys can never be stolen they just misplaced and so we rise from the ashes, stand before the masses proclaim the victory is ours and so we never give up
